ACCESS, SERVICE AND KNOWLEDGE (ASK)

The Alliance implemented the ASK Programme with the slogan “what young people want, what young people need” between 2013 and 2015 complementing one another’s efforts to enhance the sexual and reproductive health of young people. The ASK Programme targeted young people between the ages of ten (10) and twenty-four (24) years with a specific focus on the uptake of Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services. All 8 members of the Alliance implemented the ASK Programme. They were Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana – PPAG; Hope for Future Generations – HFFG; Northern Sector Awareness and Action Centre – NORSAAC; Simli Aid; Presbyterian Health Services – North; Curious Minds, Theatre for a Change and Savana Signatures.

ASK aim was to improve the SRHR of young people between the ages of ten and twenty-four years (10-24 years) in Ghana by increasing young people’s uptake of SRH services by the end of 2015

The ASK Programme was funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs through seven International NGOs working in an Alliance too, namely RutgersWPF (Alliance Lead), Simavi, AMREF Flying Doctors, CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality, dance4life, Stop AIDS Now! based in the Netherlands and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) based in the United Kingdom – UK.

The programme was implemented in communities and schools within the Northern, Upper East, Brong Ahafo and Central Region.
