OUR APPROACH

The Ghana SRHR Alliance for young people is an enabler for its members, convening, coordinating, catalyzing, and amplifying the voices its members’ work and operate in the following ways

Convenor

The GH Alliance continues to build its legitimacy to act as a convener of different organizations and groups by maintaining a focus on SRHR and young people’s rights issues and initiatives. As an Alliance, the GH Alliance uses its influence to call together decision makers and other relevant stakeholders

Catalyst

The GH Alliance plays a catalytic role in forging effective collaboration among and between its members and supports members’ organization to perform their jobs well. The Alliance is a “knowledge-based” entity, fostering SRHR knowledge production and sharing. The Alliance facilitates and strengthens members’ organizational performance, development practice, influence, and impact as well as provides a range of learning and development opportunities for members, staff, and volunteers.

Coordinator

The GH Alliance provides coordination and facilitation support to enable collective action among the members’ organization and other stakeholders. It plays the role of coordinating and facilitating joint processes (stakeholder and partner engagement; continuous joint programme review, learning and adaptation. We act as a trusted broker of collaboration, partnerships, analysis, and knowledge

Policy Influencer

As an influencer, the GH Alliance represents members’, public and community interests in policy; Promoting pro-adolescent policies; Negotiating public SRHR standards and approaches; Building policy consensus, disseminating policy positions; and enhancing public support for SRHR and rights policies.

Added Value of Working Together

1. Partner organizations’ individual goals have been impacted positively by the joint achievements and successes chalked.

2. Visibility and recognition and credibility have also improved for the Alliance within a wider network of government agencies
